Gazprom neft has started production at Remote field cluster in Yamal
Gazpormneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, Gazpromeft’s subsidiary, has finished the drilling and testing of the first operational well at Western Chatylkin field. The overall length of a well is 4.14 km, including the horizontal section as of 730 m. Western Chatylkin is a part of Remote field cluster, combining Gazprom neft’s assets in the Southern part of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
The starting rate of recovery exceeded 500 tpd of water-free sweet crude. After the completion of transport infrastructure, the potential daily yield of new well may be increased up to 700 t. The conditions of Western Chatylkin hydrocarbon bedding are similar to those of Chatylkin already under development, characterised by high daily flows and low pace of natural depletion.
“The programme for operational drilling at Western Chatylkin will continue in 2018. We intend to build here eight development wells, to ensure the yield of 500 k tpa of crude. By our estimates, the production high at Remote field cluster in general will be achieved in 2023-2026 accounting for 2 mtpa,” — as reported by Vadim Yakovlev, Firs Deputy CEO of Gazprom neft.
Remote field cluster combines Gazprom neft’s assets located in the southern Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, i.e. in the Krasnoselkupsky and Purovsky areas: Chatylkin, Western Chatylkin, Kholmistoye, Vorgenskoye, Ravninnoye, and South Udmurt fields, as well as promising license areas. The operator of a new large-scale project is Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz.
